Register a Domain Name
Anyone can register for a domain name. It can be for a business or just for your personal use. You can register for a .com, .net or .org domain name for a business or for individual use. Although we do not recommend it, you can register for the .net and .org domain types even though they are meant for network and charitable organisation respectively.
Besides the .com domain name, you can also consider the .asia domain type if the .com you want is already registered by someone else. Alternatively, which is our next recommendation, you consider registering for a Singapore (.COM.SG) domain name.
You could also consider other domain types like the .biz, .info or .name, however, we do not recommend them because they are not widely recognised. So, ideally we recommend the following domain types in the specific order of preference:
- .com
- .com.sg
- .asia
If you are seeking a presence in the Chinese or Mandarin speaking community, then you can consider the .cn or .tw domain types.
